HACE recognized at SafeNet’s Domestic Violence Awareness Month News Conference

DV-Press-Conference

The Housing Authority of the City of Erie along with the City of Erie Police and Millcreek Police Departments were recognized at SafeNet’s Domestic Violence Awareness Month News Conference for their partnership with SafeNet in implementing a Lethality Program for victims of domestic violence. The Lethality Program uses a scoring system to determine if potential domestic violence victims should be connected immediately with a Safenet Counselor. The Housing Authority Quebec Unit police officers have been trained and been successfully using the Lethality Program format for over 2 years. Domestic Violence is and has been the number one reason police are called to a residence in public housing for over twenty years. The Lethality Program gives the Quebec officers one more very valuable tool to ensure the safety of residents who are the victim of domestic violence.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and the Housing Authority of the City of Erie would like to commend SafeNet for their ongoing commitment to making domestic violence victims safe in Erie County.
